HELLO HOOMAN, I’M Alaskan Malamute

I am an Alaskan Malamute, one of the oldest dog breed whose looks have not changed much over time; plus, I am an intelligent canine. Being smart has its own disadvantages; I get bored quickly, so I cannot just sit around doing nothing. In fact, I have to be involved in a job all the time and need consistent leadership to avoid becoming challenging to handle and bored.

MORE ABOUT ME

PERSONALITY AND TEMPERMANT

Generally, the Malamute is a calm, easy-going, and fun-loving dog. Plus, Malamute is a friendly and gentle dog breed. But it has no fear and will be ready to face anyone threat directed towards its family. However, more often than not, people find themselves incapable of handling this highly intelligent yet devious dog breed.

Moreover, the Malamute is not a one-man dog, which follows the loved ones blindly and accepts every command given to it. To win the faith of this breed, the owner and loved ones have to prove themselves worthy of Alaskan Malamute’s trust. Once it is done, the Malamute is really protective of its owners and can form a strong bond with them.

What’s more, Alaskan Malamute can be independent and stubborn, disregarding its owner and happily following strangers. This breed always tries to be the leader in the household.

CHARACTERISTICS

Alaskan Malamute is not for apartment living; it needs to be put in spacious homes. Plus, it has a solid prey drive. This breed doesn’t like other dogs and kids alike as well as it cannot be left alone. Moreover, it sheds a lot, all of the previous things indicate that this breed is not for new dog owners.

Alaskan Malamute is a great dog to move light objects. In fact, it is used as a sled hound in activities like mushing, carting, bikejoring, and skijoring.

ENERGY LEVEL

Alaskan Malamute was bred to be a working dog. Hence, it requires regular exercise to keep it physically and mentally stimulated. This breed loves to explore and swim. But it will show its true colors when given a chance to play in the snow.

PHYSICAL
